Our Mission:

The Queen Charlotte Islands Regional Recreation Commission promotes and provides leisure and recreation opportunities to the residents of Haida Gwaii/Queen Charlotte Islands

Youth Sponsorship

QCI Rec. has a Youth Sponsorship Fund

We have at least one spot (and sometimes more) in every QCI Rec. Program that we can partially or fully fund. Give us a call and tell us the program your child is interested in and we will help you ease your way into your desired program.

Travel Subsidies

QCI Rec. has Travel Subsidies for Moresby Islanders

This past spring QCI Rec. raise $1,200.00 to help toward ferry travel on the Kwuna for recreation programs on Graham Island. Please contact us and we can tell you how to get reimbursed.

Volunteer with QCI Rec.

Scroll down to read about the ways you can help out in your community!

The QCI Recreation Commission is a non-profit society operated by a volunteer board of directors.
Our mandate is to provide recreational opportunities to all communities on Haida Gwaii.
Help us serve the island community- volunteer at an event or as a board member!

Community Drop In Coordinators

The Drop In community coordinators are the catalysts for evening recreational activities in our communities. They are always on site at the booked venue to ensure that the programs are run smoothly, collect fees for the programs and hold valid first aid certificates.
If you would like to volunteer to be a coordinator for a sport in your community call QCI Rec. at 1-888-557-4418 or 256-626-5652 or email us at qcirec@gmail.com

Commissioners

Recreation Commissioners are the voices of the community they represent on Haida Gwaii/Queen Charlotte Islands. Commissioners meet with the QCI Rec. Coordinator and staff three times per year and are expected to help make decisions around recreation opportunities and programming on the islands. Volunteering with the Commission is a great contribution to your community. Currently we are still seeking a Commissioner to represent Skidegate. If you are interested please contact the QCI Rec. office.

QCI Rec. turns 30

Join us at the Tlell Fall Fair, August 1st, for some cake and draws for QCI Rec. program gift certificates as well as to peruse the old photo albums from Summer Camps of years gone by. You just may be in there!
